Hanx101 TriviaA trivia game narrated by actor Tom Hanks will soon be one of the games available exclusively on the Apple Arcade subscription service (Via Diversity) Despite the name, this isn’t a game dedicated to asking you questions about Hanks’ career – a Press release from the developer of the gameBlueline Studios says it will have “thousands of questions” about subjects such as history, math, geography and food. (I expect a later set to have at least one question about a box of chocolates.)

The game will feature a face-to-face competition mode, a team mode, and a “Hanx101 mode” where you try to get a high score by clearly answering 101 questions. There will apparently also be “unique formats” such as “Word Jam” and “I Spy”, although the marketing material for the game leaves what appears to be an open question. The game is set to launch on Friday, September 2.

I’ll be honest, this sounds like a pretty weird project to me. First, there is the name; of blueline official website Styles it specifically for sports Hanx101 Trivia There is no space between Hanks and 101, while the Apple Arcade listing has a space. Secondly, it’s a game that’s being marketed as “a way for Tom to share his love and passion for trivia with his fans, casual gamers, trivia aficionados, and you.” I didn’t know he was such a savvy man.

Not that being weird is a bad thing. Like I said earlier, I am totally going to give it a try. And it’s nice to see what kinds of projects Apple is experimenting with in Arcade.
