Zomato-owned Blinkit recently announced to deliver printouts at your doorstep in a matter of minutes. While the service may be useful for parents and working professionals alike, the service has been criticized for its pricing.
The new service from the Zomato-owned company has sparked many reactions. While some welcomed the decision, others were shocked to see the price list. Many expressed that printing stores in every locality charge Rs 2-3 for both side printing services. This started a discussion that the introduction of such services might fail due to the high prices.
The company said that to use this service, users will have to upload documents on the Blinkit app. According to Blinkit, these documents will be deleted as soon as the printout is taken.
We take a look at how to place a printing order with Blinkit, its pricing, and other pertinent details.
Blinkit Printing Services: How to Order
Users who want to get the printout should be uploaded through Blinkit App. The app is currently only supporting A4 size printouts, but they plan to expand. All widely used file formats are supported, including JPEG, JPG, PNG, and PDF files. The maximum size for each document has been limited to 10MB.
Blinkit Printing Services: Pricing
The fee is Rs 9 per page for black and white printout and Rs 19 for color printout. In addition, the service also charges a delivery fee of ₹25 for each order. Customers do not need to order in bulk to receive printouts as there is currently no minimum order requirement to use this new service.
Blinkit Printing Services: Other Details:
The new service on the platform comes as Zomato prepares for Blinkit to experiment with cross-leveraging its customer base and vice versa.
“We will also start working on integrating delivery fleet back-ends, thereby achieving higher delivery efficiency over time,” said Deepinder Goyal, Founder and CEO, Zomato recently.
He added that the technological integration between the two companies will accelerate the pace of progress at both ends.
According to the company, losses for Blinkit are shrinking every month, from Rs 2,040 million (about $26 million) in January 2022 to 929 million ($12 million) in July.
The company said that Blinkit also closed several unviable dark stores that were not scaling and the team will continue to evaluate non-performing stores.
In just six months, the Blinkit business has grown to 20 percent of Zomato’s food delivery GOV, while being present in less than 15 cities.
